Dr. Amanda Schnibben
completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at
Antioch University
in Santa Barbara in 2014. She joined Thomson Memory & Attention in August of 2014 after completing her internship in
Forensic Psychology at Elgin Mental Health Center
where she underwent training in psychopathology and evidence-based interventions. Dr. Schnibben’s previous experience includes rotations at Cognitive Fitness and Innovative Therapies (CFIT) and the
California Department of Rehabilitation
where she worked closely with individuals who suffered traumatic brain injuries. Her clinical interests include emotion dysregulation, Dementia, and cognitive rehabilitation for a variety of conditions (e.g., neurological disorders, TBIs, ADHD, and Stroke). Dr. Schnibben utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques as well as family systems and psychodynamic approaches in clinical settings when appropriate. Her overall approach to treatment is to bring her patients a balanced blend of compassion, common sense, humor, and clinical expertise that will help the patient make meaningful and measurable progress towards their therapeutic goals. Dr. Schnibben currently resides with her family in the southwest suburbs.
