Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Christie Pellow received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Prior to this pursuit, Dr. Pellow earned a Master of Science in Applied Quantitative Research from The University of West Florida. She completed her doctoral internship at El Paso VA Medical Center in West Texas specializing in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to assess Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, traumatic brain injuries, and various forms of dementia processes. Dr. Pellow also acquired skills to provide evidence-based psychotherapies, including Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Dr. Pellow has experience assessing patients across the lifespan and is passionate about lifespan development. In her free time, Dr. Pellow enjoys exercising, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

Heather Paterson, MA, NCC, LPC

Counselor

Heather Paterson joined Thomson Memory & Attention in 2022 and is assisting our teen, adult, and older adult populations. Heather believes therapy is an invaluable collaborative effort and views her role as one that empowers clients to explore the challenging issues they may be facing while providing deeper insight, self-awareness, and ultimately greater self-reliance. She integrates complementary techniques including, but not limited to, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered, solutions-focused, and strengths-based approaches to create a personalized and holistic plan tailored to meeting each client where they are at. 

Heather works with teens, adults, and older adults with anxiety and anxiety related disorders, depression, ADHD, and stress management issues. Taking the first step towards personal growth can be difficult, and Heather approaches all her clients with empathy, understanding, and encouragement.

Dr. Nickolas Armstrong, Psy.D.

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Nickolas Armstrong received his Doctorate in Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a dual focus in Neuropsychology and Health Psychology. He completed his internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center specializing in the evaluation of Dementia, Epilepsy, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). During this time, Dr. Armstrong also gained experience with psychological evaluations for surgical weight loss, clinical hypnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapy. With experience in assessing patients of all ages, Dr. Armstrong has a particular emphasis on adult and geriatric patients. During his free time, Dr. Armstrong enjoys gardening, exercise, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Nickolas Armstrong, Psy.D.
Dr. Sharlet Anderson, Ph.D.

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Sharlet Anderson (she/her/hers) received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Neuropsychology from Georgia State University. She completed her residency and 2-year Neuropsychology post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in the Department of Neurology. In 2015, she joined the faculty at Rush University Medical Center as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences in the Division of Movement Disorders. She was the Director of the Program of Cognitive and Behavioral Health in Movement Disorders and the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee for the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush.

Dr. Anderson joined Thomson Memory and Attention in 2023. Her practice focuses on neuropsychological evaluations for adults. She has extensive experience working with patients who have neurological disorders, particularly those with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and Lewy Body Dementia. She conducts pre- and post-surgical evaluations for those considering deep brain stimulation (DBS) and focused ultrasound (FUS) surgeries. Her clinical interests also include neuropsychological evaluations for people who are facing cognitive changes related to other neurological or medical conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders, brain tumors, and genetic disorders. Dr. Anderson has a passion for health equity and multiculturalism, which she uses to conduct culturally-informed neuropsychological evaluations and to formulate individually tailored recommendations. In her free time, Dr. Anderson enjoys music, reading, cooking, exercising, and exploring Chicago with her family.

Dr. Rebecca Yesian, Psy.D.
Dr. Thomas R. Sak, Psy.D.

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Thomas Sak earned his doctorate from Adler University (2016) with a concentration in Clinical Neuropsychology. Following graduation, Dr. Sak completed his formal two-year fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Thomson Memory & Attention. Dr. Sak has held training and professional positions across private practice, medical center, and non-profit settings. Dr. Sak’s clinical interests include neuropsychological assessment of known or suspected attention-deficit disorders as well as neurologic and neurodegenerative conditions. He rejoins Thomson Memory & Attention from The Family Institute at Northwestern University.
